Ken has been a Spokane resident since 1974 and in 1983 graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Gonzaga University School of Law, where he was a Thomas More Scholar, acknowledging academic achievement and an interest in public service. He contributed to the Gonzaga Law Review.

Ken is a member of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives.

He is, or has been, a Director or member of the Spokane Food Bank, the Greater Spokane Coalition Against Poverty, the Fair Budget Action Campaign, the City of Spokane’s Human Services Advisory Board, the Legal Aid Committee of the Washington State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association for the Eastern District of Washington, the Northwest Autism Center, Board of Planned Parenthood of the Inland Northwest, and the Epilepsy Foundation Washington’s Regional Advisory Board.

He and his wife Nancy have three children.
